In loving memory of John Jakobsson

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of John Jakobsson, a truly kind, creative and compassionate person whom we had the privilege of working with over the course of two years. Our thoughts and hearts are with his family and friends ❤️

John worked with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and Sanitation360 AB, helping us bring ideas from concept to reality. One of the projects he contributed to was the development of our ceramic “Pop-up Urinals”.

John did much more than turn our prototypes into functional products. He transformed them into unique pieces of functional art. He created both a dry male urinal and a dry unisex urinal, combining practical design with his own creativity and craftsmanship.

The urinals have since travelled to conferences around Sweden, where they have been used to demonstrate how dry sanitation can contribute to nutrient recycling. They were also installed at Uppsala University – Campus Gotland, where they were used for several months.

John’s work will continue to be seen and used by many people, carrying forward his creativity and contribution to more sustainable sanitation systems.

Thank you, John, for crossing our paths, for your creativity and dedication, and for all the good times we shared. We will remember you not only for what you created, but also for your kindness and generous spirit.

Rest well, John❤️
