Happy World Toilet Day 2025
Each year on November 19, World Toilet Day reminds us that safe sanitation is essential; for health, equality and the environment. This year’s theme “We’ll Always Need the Toilet” calls for action to protect and expand access to sanitation in the face of rising challenges: ageing infrastructure, growing demand, underinvestment and the accelerating impacts of climate change.
At Sanitation360 we couldn’t agree more. Toilets are not just about convenience – they’re about sustainability, resilience and circular thinking. Our work focuses on turning urine into a valuable fertilizer, helping close the nutrient loop and reduce dependence on imported synthetic alternatives.
We’re proud to be featured in the latest issue of Avfall och Miljö, a Swedish magazine for waste and recycling. The article, “Kissamajan banar väg för återvinning av urin”, highlights how our technology, including the Kissamaja and our urine-drying systems, is paving the way for a new circular approach to sanitation.

We also had the pleasure of celebrating World Toilet Day together with Uppsala University Campus Gotland. Jenna Senecal hosted an information booth in the campus foyer, where visitors could learn more about our innovations, ask questions and explore how new technology can help society make better use of essential nutrients. Our Kissamaja visited Campus Gotland this summer, so we were especially glad to return and meet students, staff and curious passersby on this important day.
